Kai Kuss tourism is the most significant phenomena in Salzburg’s city centre. In his artistic contribution ”flies“ the artist presents true analogue without polemics between tourism and a housefly. There is an enormous fly in front of a black background in a display window in Salzburg’s city centre. The fly, made from polyester with a hollow fibreglass body, will completely fill the window and real flies will swarm around it. A monitor will document the experimental film process of the Flies“ and at the same time you will be able to see microscopic recordings from the creation process of the insect and the copulation to the fully developed imago. The mean housefly was spread around the world by man and it is just as globalised as most types of plant. Their significance is relevant for the world’s entire population. They passively carry infections and disease on their legs and pass it on to humans through their excrement.
