Sunset Kino 2021

Founded by Séamus Kealy Sunset Kino is Austria’s only outdoor, avant-garde film program. Between July 21th and August 25th, curated screenings commence after sunset. This year’s theme Surfing Purgatory is a response to the summer exhibition by Gabriel Abrantes at the Salzburger Kunstverein. The curators this year are Bernardo De Souza (Brazil), Gabriel Abrantes (Portugal), Reetu Sattar (Bangladesh), Josée Drouin-Brisebois (Canada) and Antje Ehmann (Germany).

Introduced by the invited artist or curator, screenings are about 90 minutes. Picnic tables and a bar are on-site. People can bring or acquire food from our restaurant. Free entry.

Parallel to Sunset Kino are our summer exhibitions Gabriel Abrantes, Megan Rooney, Omer Fast, and Daniela Zeilinger (Tue-Sun 12-7pm).
