Sunset Kino

Founded by Séamus Kealy in 2017, Sunset Kino is Austria’s only outdoor, avant-garde film program. Each Wednesday between July 22nd and August 19th, curated screenings commence after sunset. The theme this summer is “Best,” just that. “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” “Best greetings, best wishes.” “We live in the best country in the world.” How does one assess what is best in any given context? Sports is often a situation where the best is determined, and then we have had eponymous figures in this field, whether the unstoppable Rory Best, the fabulous, unorthodox George Best or simply any numero uno in the systems of competition that remain the ever-pumping heart and fast-paced soul of western civilisation. This year’s curators and artists each respond to this open theme.

Introduced by the invited artist or curator, screenings are about 90 minutes. Picnic tables and a bar are on-site. People can bring or acquire food from Café BUK E KRYP. Free entry.
