Bernhard Lochmann
Hommage à…?

Opening: September 26, 2012, 7 p.m.

As part of the exhibition series at CaféCult #56 Bernhard Lochmann is presenting the installation Hommage à…?.

Hommage à...? is the attempt to dedicate a work to real people, as well as everyday objects and symbols that are interwoven with and connected to “regular life.” As is often the case in Bernhard Lochmann’s drawings, subjective, biographically tinged scenes transform into (allegedly) universally readable pictorial narratives. Hommage à...? deals with different “compulsions of life” and often unchallenged, accepted “inevitabilities.”

Bernhard Lochmann, born 1972 in Kufstein, lives and works in Salzburg. He studied graphic design at Mozarteum University in Salzburg from 1991-1999. Bernhard Lochmann has been working in the Graphic Workshop in Traklhaus on a regular basis since 1996 and has already printed over 90 of his own pieces. In 2006 he founded periscope in Salzburg with Stefan Heizinger and Elisabeth Schmirl. Periscope initiates cross-discipline projects and maintains a lively dialogue about new artistic work on site.
