Eija-Liisa Ahtila (born 1959, lives in Helsinki) based her video installations on everyday experiences, in this case the separation of a young couple with a child. She draws from film genres ranging from documentary to fiction with surreal elements.

Consolation Service is about endings, death and time as experienced by the individual.
