Superamas
When We Were Kings

Im Rahmen der Ausstellung Sex in the City war im Ausstellungskabinett des Salzburger Kunstvereins die Videoinstallation „When We Were Kings“ (2005) zu sehen.

Darin feiert das Künstlerkollektiv eine heiße Party – zusammen mit drei jungen, schönen Frauen… Joking…Drinking… getting wasted. The evening roughly shifts into a strip-poker party. The whole scene is filmed by themselves. Clumsy, the videocamera captures bits of this non-event. Is everything staged or simply true ? Have we got any clues to find out ? While watching this pretty rough video, what is ultimately faced at besides our own desire ? The process of editing and disframing digs the surface of these images. It finally points out what we are really paying attention to, for whatever reasons (!).
