Encouragement Award Winner 2017: Alexandra Baumgartner

Together with the State of Salzburg the Salzburger Kunstverein presented its Encouragement Award (Förderpreis) of 3,000 Euros.

This year’s curatorial jury for the 2017 Annual Exhibition – consisting of Karolina Radenković (Director, 5020), Tina Teufel (Curator, Museum der Moderne Salzburg) and Gerold Tusch (Artist and Board Member of the Salzburger Kunstverein) – selected the artist Alexandra Baumgartner among the 94 applicants as the recipient of the 2017 Encouragement Award.

Alexandra Baumgartner was born in Salzburg in 1973. She studied painting at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and is also a graduate of the “Fotografie Kolleg” in Vienna. She lives and works in Berlin and Vienna.
