Bulgarian artist Nedko Solakov closed his provocative exhibition Improvements with typical flourish. Last year, Solakov chose nine paintings formerly done by the Salzburger Kunstverein’s Director. Each painting was mounted in a plexi-glass box. The public was invited to improve them. After ten months a mass of graffiti resulted, which has shocked audiences. Solakov irreverently turned expectations about exhibitions and the Director’s role on their heads. On February 11 he came back to Salzburg to conclude the adventure.
