The “Places/Non-Places” exhibitions presented the results of the “ORTung 2009” artist symposium organized in Strobl every year by the state of Salzburg. They were running parallel in the Salzburger Kunstverein and the Deutschvilla in Strobl ( Exhibition opening July 23, 2009,
8 p.m.).

Non-places refer to commercialized, mono-functional areas with no identity or history. Shopping centers, gas stations, or large hotels are typical examples. How do places with tradition and a sense of identity act towards non-places in historical tourism regions?

On the occasion of the exhibition a catalogue was published.
