Re-Activate: Art as Creative Collaboration

Critical discussions concerning participation in contemporary art have lately reconsidered the strategic role of the audience in the collaborative and socio-engaged projects. On the occasion of the exhibition Participation. Politics of Community , “Vector Studio” mediation group was displaying in the Cabinet an archive containing a timeline (a selective genealogy of participatory art), a visual documentation with pictures, drawings and texts, a selection of books about participation and a communication desk.

The communication desk created a protocol of communication between audience and mediators, proposing online debates (www.vectorstudio-participation.blogspot.com) and discussions on the books in the archive and the artistic projects exhibited in the Great Hall. A synthesis of this communication would be regularly presented in the Cabinet.
