Annelies Oberdanner

Annelies Oberdanner (born in 1961, lives in Vienna) was awarded the 1996 Special Prize of the Province of Salzburg.

For the annual exhibition, she has contributed colour copies of photographs, displayed in the peripheral gallery. The selection consisted of a series of combinations of pictures: glimpses captured in the neutral atmosphere of colour copies were pasted in pairs or larger groups on the walls of the display cases. Like written characters – universally legible but at the same time requiring to be updated by the viewer´s own imagination and memory – these details taken from everyday life by means of a photographic lens seem fanciful, not so much reality as fairytale.
