Anthony Cokes, Evil 27: Selma, 2011, 9 min
Tony Cokes’ film work deals with race and it’s representation. He claims that images do a disservice to our understanding of societies’ ability to change, posing as the truth while requiring no act of imagining on our part.

Ian White, IBIZA: A reading for ‘The Flicker’, 2008, 41 min
IBIZA documents Ian Whites performance of a personal story combined with an iconically-aggressive structural film by Tony Conrad. IBIZA demands a particular kind of viewing, which pays attention to how things are made invisible or inaudible.

Nan Goldin, The Ballad of Sexual Dependency, 1986, 43 min
Titled after a song from The Threepenny Opera and comprising photographs sequenced against an evocative soundtrack, Nan Goldin’s film is a personal narrative formed out of her experiences from the 1970s onwards.
