Together with the state of Salzburg the Salzburger Kunstverein presented its Salzburg Emerging Art Award (Förderpreis) of 3,000 Euros.
This year’s jury – consisting of Philippe Batka (curator ot the annual exhibition “Petition” and responsible for the collection of the Vienna Insurance Group), Ulrike Lienbacher (artist, professor for sculpture at Mozarteum Salzburg) and Jürgen Tabor (curator Sammlung Generali Foundation, MdM Salzburg) – selected the artist Marlies Pöschl among the 61 applicants as the recipient of the 2019 Salzburg Emerging Art Award.
Marlies Pöschl was born in Salzburg in 1982. She studied media art at the Academy of Fine Arts and art and communication at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. She lives and works in Vienna, Paris and Teheran.
