Parallel to the annual exhibition, the 2010 fellowship award winner, Marianne Lang, was showing her work.

In a life-sized drawing Marianne Lang showed a room in her parents’ house, which she addressed in a video installation parallel to this. While she filled the paper with subtle geometry and texture, the filmed image developed a surreal life of its own just as the background dissolved into nothingness and the view out the window belied our perception. The room turned out to be a staged cardboard model.

Marianne Lang, born 1979 in Graz, lives and works in Vienna
